Personal dental hygiene instruments at home?

RE: Personal dental hygiene instruments at home?
As far as dental tools are concerned, if you are talking about the tools like the pick that they use to poke and scrape your teeth when examining them, I don't think it's a good idea to use one at home. The reason is that the pointy metal pick and other professional tools can damage the enamel of your teeth if you don't know how to use it properly. The only tool I think is safe beside a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss is a dental mirror which you can usually pick up in the same stores that sell toothbrushes and toothpaste.

As far as I'm concerned, my personal dental hygiene instruments are a toothpaste and a toothbrush and I do my best to use these regularly.

Dentists and dental hygienists use a amount of instruments to appraise and apple-pie your teeth. While some of the tools, such as the dental mirror and scaler, are accessible for home use, others, such as the X-ray, are accessible alone if you appointment your dentist.
